In what has been an incredibly busy year, Rohde & Schwarz have been focussing on enhancing our technologies and bringing the very best solutions to our customers around the globe.

Although we have not been able to travel and see you all face to face quite as much as we would like to have done, we are hopeful that next year will bring more opportunities to meet in person. In the meantime we are still always happy to catch up via email, video conference or our ShowTime virtual booth.

Below are just a few highlights from 2021.

Red Bee Media prepares for All-IP Future with Rohde & Schwarz PRISMON Multiviewer

Red Bee Media, a leading global media services company, has selected the PRISMON multiviewer system from Rohde & Schwarz. It will replace life-expired SDI systems in its playout facilities in the UK, with a highly flexible, distributed, IP-connected multiviewer network.

Sky Deutschland upgrades to next-generation UHD Rohde & Schwarz VENICE and SpycerNode for sport production

Rohde & Schwarz has supplied the latest version of its R&S^®VENICE media server and R&S^®SpycerNode intelligent storage solution to Sky Deutschland. The German broadcaster will now benefit from a highly robust workflow, with full built-in redundancy and no single point of failure, for its coverage of premium sports content, such as the Bundesliga and Champions League.

WFMJ selects StreamMaster PRIME for branding refresh

Pixel Power, a Rohde & Schwarz company, was chosen to deliver a configurable StreamMaster PRIME system to WFMJ, the NBC and CW affiliate in Youngstown, Ohio, USA. The new StreamMaster PRIME is a direct replacement for a legacy graphics generator in the transmission chain.

Filmhouse gets new Rohde & Schwarz CLIPSTER for 2021 Edinburgh International Film Festival

The latest version of our R&S^®CLIPSTER mastering system has been supplied to Filmhouse. Scotland's leading independent cinema, Filmhouse is the home of the annual Edinburgh International Film Festival, which was established in 1947. The team at Filmhouse relies heavily on CLIPSTER to create Digital Cinema Packages (DCPs) of shorts during the festivals, to create film scans and put together marketing stings.

R&S^®SpycerNode family is an intelligent media storage system aimed broadcasters and media production & playout companies that need guaranteed levels of performance, regardless of where their media is stored or how much is stored.

Live Studio production gets boosted functionality in the R&S^®VENICE platform with support for 4k Ultra HD signals, using either 12G or 2SI formats.

VENICE is a high-performance, high-resilience media platform designed to manage complex signal processing and storage requirements, particularly in live studio production applications. It provides uninterrupted operations including scheduled recording, clip transforms and playouts, across a network of processors with both R&S storage and third-party qualified storage sub-systems. Rapid studio multiviewer changes are now easy within seconds with the introduction of MCC, Multiviewer Control Centre to R&S^®PRISMON. Distributed multiviewers now benefit from highly flexible i/o and automation control for fast turnaround implementations. This new functionality increases still further the power and productivity of the platform. MCC enables a single point of control for a network of multiviewers, which can be automated, giving instant reconfiguration of multiple displays.

StreamMaster integrates SRT and joins SRT Alliance

StreamMaster now offers low latency within the platform after the announcement that Pixel Power, a Rohde & Schwarz company, has joined the SRT Alliance, the open-source initiative dedicated to overcoming the challenges of low-latency video streaming. The move further supports the goals of Pixel Power, and parent company Rohde & Schwarz, to deliver flexible solutions for master control playout with fully integrated graphics and branding that can be deployed easily on premise or in the cloud.
